The streets of peaceful boulder city were transformed on Saturday, May 18th. Giant Pabst Blue Ribbon cans, barricades and concert stages blocked the road on Arizona Way just outside The Dillinger Food and Drinkery. The Dillinger was hosting their second block party with all kinds of fun stuff lining the street and of course a stage for some live music.

Last night's benefit just so happened to coincide with Vegas Streats just down the street from The Beauty Bar and there just so happened to be some bands playing. I was just able to make it in time to catch GoldBoot performing live across from the El Cortez and I was able to get some photos before having to leave for The Beauty Bar.

So let's talk about my face palm moment at Viva Ska Vegas. I was all ready for this show, had my camera, had my tickets, thought I had everything ..... so I thought. I thought wrong, after getting to the show, I tried switching on my camera and to my surprise it wouldn't turn on. What the hell was happening I thought? Is my camera broken?

There's no shortage of talent at Money Plays every Thursday and Friday night. Presented by VegasOnTheMic.com, the show is an open mic event and it's completely free. Sign up starts at 8pm and coincidentally, so does happy hour, score! The environment is very friendly and welcoming and performers of all sorts are encouraged to get in front of the crowd.

Their music is kind of dancey, unce unce-ish but has some funky vocals added to it. I was definitely feelin' it and judging by the way the crowd was reacting, I think everyone else was too.
